This summer, we are excited to offer a new kettlebell strengthening group class with our newest therapist, Austin. Kettlebells are amazing tools for improving functional strength, explosive movements, general mobility, spatial awareness, joint stability, balance, and grip strength.
While traditional uses of cables, machines, and other free weights are beneficial, kettlebell workouts tend to focus on dynamic, multi-joint compound movements that engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously, providing an amazing full-body workout in a short amount of time.
The shape and functionality of kettlebells help train explosive movements, swinging motions, and body awareness principles that are essential for building the strength required in various sports and activities. Along with these benefits, the uneven weight distribution of kettlebells constantly engages our core, improving stability and balance.
Due to their versatility, kettlebells are also well-suited for high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Kettlebell exercises usually involve constant full-body movements, which help maintain a high heart rate and boost cardiovascular endurance and aerobic capacity, making them suitable even for those who are not fond of traditional cardio workouts.
